This project created an additional storey with a roof extension and construction of a new office. A high specification residential building within an existing courtyard profile incorporated state of the art natural ultra-thin stone cladding technology.
The rhythm of the façade provides a depth of both visual and functional design. GBP Architects delivered a highly technical construction drawing package that integrated an innovative stone cladding system consisting of a very thin layer of stone bonded to an aluminium honeycomb. This was extremely lightweight and could be added without the need for additional structural or foundational support.
The resulting building comprised 14 luxury urban apartments over existing flexible office space. Two passenger lifts serve the fifth floor and these are accessed through an impressive, bright, and open reception area with concierge services.
