Vicarage Road

Harmonious blend of old and new

A detached Victorian family home in Hampton Wick, Southwest London accomplished a comprehensive renovation that included updating the upper floors, adding a single storey extension to the back, and rearranging the ground floor plan.

The Victorian-style was preserved in the new rear addition while a modern, open-plan interior was designed with the assistance of GBP Architects. The bar area, connects the more private living space with the open plan kitchen breakfast area. The ground floor layout has been reconfigured to include a new formal dining room that has access to the rear yard. A ground floor snug with a boot room and shower room next to it.

This house extension that embodies the traditional aspirations of the client with the low energy agenda. GBP Architects combine heritage detailing and modern building techniques. The final result is house extension that uses heritage sensitivity and is well placed.
