old foundations, new horizons
After a previous owner failed to achieve planning approval on a new block of flats, GBP Architects consulted with the Local Authority to determine that family houses would be more appropriate. Three new terraced 4/5 bed Georgian-style townhouses were granted planning approval at the end of 2013.
The vacant three-storey office building and light engineering business was re-purposed from brown-field site for new land-use in Brentford—an area of expanding residential development and major infrastructure improvements.
The best of both worlds
Traditional appearances are paired with photovoltaic panels and a Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery system to achieve level 4 of the Code for Sustainable homes, without compromising the well-proportioned elevations and generous interiors.
Homes for urban living
GBP Architects optimised the site and provided a coherent design solution for sustained urban living, cleverly planning off-street parking to the front and generous landscaped gardens to the rear; the houses sold well above the market value.
